COVID 19 SAFETY PLAN

The virus that causes COVID-19 spreads in several ways.  It can spread in droplets when a person coughs or sneezes.  It can also spread if you touch a contaminated surface and then touch your face,

The risk of person-person transmission increases the closer you come to other people, the more time you spend near them, and the more people you come near.

The risk of surface transmission increases when many people contact the same surface and when those contacts happen over short periods of times.

We have involved worker when assessing the workplace and have identified areas where there may be risks, either through close physical proximity or through contaminated surfaces.  The closer together workers are and the longer they are close to each other, the greater the risk.

We have involved frontline workers and supervisors.

We have identified areas where people gather.

We have identified job tasks and processes where workers are close to one another or members of the public.

We have identified the tools, machinery, and equipment that workers share while working.

We have identified surfaces that people touch often such as doorknobs and light switches.

First level of protection (elimination):  Limit the number or people at the workplace and ensure physical distance whenever possible.

We have established and posted an occupancy limit of 14 people for our premises.

We have established and posted occupancy limits of 6 people from the same party may enter the store at one time, this limits the number or customers and visitors in the workplace.

We have implemented measures to keep workers and others at least 2 metres apart whenever possible.  Only 1 staff member allowed behind the bar at a time.  Customer seating spaced 2 metres apart outside with room for customer exit and entry from the store.

Measures in place:

Disposable Menus and online Menus

Drinks will be served outside.

Contact tracing is required.

No walk-ins for cocktail only for purchasing from the store.

Store costumers to wait at the bottom of the stairs until the store is empty.

Second level protection (barriers).

We have moved furniture to an acceptable distance both inside and on the patio.

Third level protection (administrative controls):  Rules and guidelines

We have identified rules and guidelines for how our staff should conduct themselves.

We have clearly communicated these rules and guidelines to our staff through a combination of training and signage.

We will have 2 staff members on shift.  One staff member will be responsible to customer service and the other staff member will be responsible for clean up and sanitization of frequently used items.

All tables and surfaces will be sprayed and wiped down with cleaner and sanitizer after each use.

Hand sanitizer stations have been put out for staff and customer use at the entrance and at the till.

Staff will be directed to clear tables after customers have left.

Disposable sample cups and foot pedal garbage available.

Our workplace has adequate handwashing facilities on-site for all our workers and customers. Handwashing locations are visible and easily accessed. Signage is in place for proper effective cleaning.

We have policies that outline when staff must wash their hands and we have communicated hygiene practices to all employees. Frequent handwashing and good hygiene practices are essential to reduce the spread of the virus.

We have implemented cleaning protocols for all common areas and surfaces, e.g., bar top, tables, and chairs, door handles, bathroom, and POS system. This includes the frequency that these items must be cleaned as well as the timing such as before and after shift.

Our workplace policies ensure that our staff and others showing symptoms of COVID-19 are prohibited.

We have posted signage at the main entrance indicating who is restricted from entering the premises, including visitors, customers, and staff with symptoms.

We have reviewed with our staff the strategies required to address the risk of violence that may arise as customers adapt to these new restrictions and modifications to our workplace.
